I worked at a Southern California psychiatric facility where I had hands-on experience taking care of victims of traumas. I worked with veterans, rape and domestic abuse victims, and others who were victimized by violence.
I’ve personally witnessed triggers in several different people. I’ve seen hysterical crying, vomiting, sweating, panting, and people have flashbacks of traumatic experiences. You know what the doctor’s advice to them was? To stay away from things that cause triggers in order to protect themselves.
If you’re honestly triggered by the the things that you said you were triggered by, then you’ve got a real problem that warrant immediate help. The first thing to do would be to log off and see to it that you’ll be taken care of. It’s unhealthy and even dangerous to keep exposing yourselves to things that trigger you.
A lot of you claim to be triggered by mere mentions of certain subject matters, yet go on to your blogs and repeatedly post about them. If you’re repeatedly mentioning the things that trigger you, then I’m not surprised when other people don’t take you seriously.
Triggers are real, but they’re completely different from things that you simply dislike or are bothered by. I’m not surprised when people say that they have a hard time believing the trigger warnings tag. Just track it for 15 minutes and you’ll find a bunch of people pretending to have legitimate medical problems; it trivializes the very real, very painful, very dangerous triggering episodes that trauma victims must live with and need professional help for.

I wish Himaruya would stop making new characters.
Lately, a lot of new faces have been popping up. I was excited about Tonga because, you know, Tonga. Then I accepted India with a bit of reluctance, because at least he had the eyebrows even if he wasn’t the classy lady I envisioned India to be.
Except then Luxembourg made a small appearance, and then there was speculation about the character at the end of the strips being Portugal or Mexico. Then the micronations came out and, alright, they’re cute, but… Woohoo, more male characters. Like we didn’t have enough of those. (Besides, did we really need more micronations?)
And now, with the EU strip, we have speculation that the scruffy man is Croatia.
I’m tired of it. I’m tired of the speculations, the new designs, and the random appearances of new characters or potential new characters. I’ve been tired of it since Romania (because, seriously, if I see one more fucking vampire picture or characterization, I’ll probably flip a table).
I’m tired of not getting more female characters. I’m tired of the nations I look most forward to being personified turning out to not be at all what I pictured. And, frankly, if that long haired man at the end of the Halloween strips is Portugal or Mexico? If that scruffy man is Croatia?
I’m doing to start ignoring the new canon information and stick to the fan portrayals of those nations I’ve seen in the fandom, ones that I like better.
REALLY GUYS, REALLY? First there is good reason for most of them to be male, since society in past wasn’t always very considerate towards females and being male would make their life’s so much more easier (not speaking for all cultures, but still…). Plus it’s not like he didn’t tell us that he always had problems with drawing girls. If you want to fight for women rights, do it! But you are not helping them through bashing gender of Hetalia characters.
And why do we really need more female characters? I just really want to know why their gender is so important to you.
Also, he should apologize to you, that he doesn’t make characters how you imagined them in your head. Sorry that Hetalia is based on stereotypes. Sorry that first thing everyone imagines about Romania is Dracula or Transylvania. Sorry that he has light hair because Himaruya actually did research and found out that according to romanian legends, vampires have weird hair colors.
I’m sure that you could do better character that actually fits the people of said country more and I’m sure you could give him/her more complex characterization (I’m even sure of that, since Romania almost didn’t say anything in manga, so how you can even judge if he is good character).
But this is HETALIA. It’s not serious and never was!
Not to mention that these guys are made by japanesse man, who stereotypes countries little differently than the western world.
Also, it’s comedy. And it is offensive. Germany looks like textbook member of Nazi party. Russians don’t have grey hair and don’t act like creepy murderers and not all Americans are constantly eating hamburgers.
I understand this is unpopular opinion and of course I respect it and I don’t want to change any of your beliefs, but I have seen similiar things going around for little while and I just needed to get this all out of myself.
The bombing of Guernica (April 26, 1937) was an aerial attack on the Basque town of Guernica, Spain, causing widespread destruction and civilian deaths during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso, inspired in this fact, painted a representation of this massacre in his masterpiece named after the affected town, Guernica.

Definitely Italy brothers. They would serve great fashion advice since I have always seen them wearing those stylish clothes in like every fanart and it would be great, to have two people to decide.
